Ampac protects 270.5 meters tall, 92 story skyscraper in the heart of Melbourne.
The Aurora Tower is the third tallest building in Melbourne and the fourth tallest buildings in Australia. Standing at 270.5 meters tall with 92 stories, the mixed-use skyscraper features retail spaces, commercial offices, serviced and residential apartments.
The tower required a tailored fire detection and evacuation system to protect occupants, with significant challenges to overcome;
- Complex high-rise structure.
- Custom alerts and evacuation messages.
Ampac worked with the team at Jaycon Fire Protection to provide the following system;
- 4 x Networked FireFinder PLUS Addressable Fire Alarm Control Panels- 36 Loops with approximately 2400 devices.
- 3 x Networked EV3000 Emergency Warning & Intercommunication System (EWIS) Panels - 81 Zones.
The Aurora Tower was split into three fire zones across the lower, mid, and high levels. To cater for this, Ampac developed tailored custom alert and evacuation messages.
