Ampac protects Australia’s first dedicated cardiac hospital

The Victorian Heart Hospital is Australia’s first dedicated cardiac hospital, located on the Monash University Clayton campus in Melbourne.

Delivered through a partnership between the Victorian Government, the Victorian Health Building Authority, and Monash University, the hospital signifies a major advancement in specialized cardiovascular care, research, and education.

The Challenge

A new project with a highly complex healthcare environment specification. The project further required a fully integrated fire detection and emergency warning system, all compliant with the latest standards.

The Solution

Ampac delivered a comprehensive fire detection and emergency warning solution, fully compliant with the latest standards and tailored to the unique demands of a critical healthcare environment.

The solution featured networked FireFinder Plus fire alarm control panels, networked EvacUElite Emergency Warning and Intercom Systems, including 120 Warden Intercom Points (WIPs) to facilitate communication during emergencies.

Ampac also supplied remote Smart Terminals to display real-time system status at multiple locations within the facility.

The site also features Ampac’s SmartView Graphical Event Management System for rapid location of event to minimize delay in emergency decision-making. In addition, Wagner Pro-Sens Aspirating Smoke Detectors were supplied to ensure highly sensitive smoke detection.
