Marvel Stadium (System Upgrade)

Marvel Stadium in Melbourne is a state-of-the-art entertainment venue that boasts a capacity of 55,000 seats. Notably, it’s the only major stadium in Australia with a fully retractable roof.
Since the stadium's opening in 2000, Ampac has been proudly committed to protecting fans, staff, players, and everyone working behind the scenes. Initially, the venue featured FireFinder panel with 4 loops, connected to over 200 detectors and devices. It also included an LCD repeater panel and was integrated with the stadium’s security and air conditioning systems.
Now, we are proud to supply compliant fire panel with expanded device integration and advanced smart terminal monitoring for enhanced safety and compliance.
The Challenge
The main challenge during the upgrade of the Marvel Stadium systems was successfully replacing legacy systems to meet current compliance requirements in a 55,000-capacity multipurpose venue. The contractor had to ensure the stadium remained fully operational throughout the process, with no luxury for downtime.

The Solution
The legacy FireFinder panel has been replaced with the fully compliant FireFinder Plus panel. The fire system now comprises a 14-loop FireFinder Plus panel interfaced with 40 AS1668-compliant fan controls and indication.
Over 1,200 detectors and devices are connected to the system, including XP95 detectors and Discovery multisensory detectors. Additionally, 20 XP95 Open Area Visual Alarm Devices (VADs) are installed throughout the stadium plus a remotely located SmartTerminal mimic.
