As the UK accelerates its transition toward a more resilient and decentralised energy infrastructure, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are becoming essential assets for grid stability, renewable integration, and long-term energy security. In support of this national shift, Ampac was selected as the preferred fire detection and life safety technology provider for a series of new Battery Energy Storage Sites across the UK.
This multi-site programme focuses on utility-scale, grid-connected storage installations designed to enhance flexibility and ensure a dependable energy supply during periods of peak demand. It also addresses the added complex risk profile of lithium-ion energy storage.
The successful deployment of Ampac systems across the sites demonstrates the company’s ability to support high-value energy infrastructure aligned with the UK’s Net Zero ambitions. The partnership also highlights how advanced fire detection technology can enhance the long-term reliability, safety, and performance of modern energy storage assets.
