John Lewis, Cribbs Causeway in Bristol, UK
Ampac protects John Lewis at Cribbs Causeway, Bristol UK, one of the premier retail venues in the Southwest of England.
The Mall at Cribbs Causeway is one of the largest and most recognisable shopping complexes in the UK and is one of the flagship locations for the John Lewis/Waitrose partnership.
As part of this partnership contract, which includes ongoing maintenance and upgrade of the retailer’s Fire Alarm Systems, a new fire detection system with a network of Ampac FireFinderPLUS panels was installed and commissioned by Frocester Fire and Security team.
The Challenges
- Large site spread over multiple floors
- Work needed to be carried out outside of trading hours to ensure as little disruption as possible
The Solution
Ampac provided a fire detection system, that included a network of FireFinderPLUS Addressable Fire Alarm Control Panels and detectors.
The system comprises of nearly 1,400 Discovery devices, distributed across 7 panels on 23 loops, with 2 repeaters and a link to a CST paging system.
Ampac’s single point programming feature allowed the Frocester engineering team to make alterations to the system configuration and upload the new configurations to the entire system in under 15 minutes.
